FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
More About Me and What I Do
WHEN DID YOU DISCOVER YOUR LOVE FOR WRITING BOOKS?
I get this question a lot--especially from my family and cousins who have never seen me write before and that's because I didn't. Writing didn't occupy a huge part of my life. I did enjoy re-writing scripts of the shows I have watched but I never thought I would be capable enough to write my own plot. But amidst reading books on Wattpad as a young 13 year old, I started to gain more interest in both reading and writing. And then, I just couldn't stop. At first, it was just for fun but after a few months, my mind was consumed with stories that I desperately needed to let out. I think writing on Wattpad was one of the best decisions I have ever taken.
WHAT ABOUT WRITING POEMS?
I honestly have no clue on how the origin of me being a poet began. All I remember is that during high school, I saw a lot of pain and heartbreak around me. It was easy for me to craft content on feelings that didn't stem from my own emotions. Eventually, I stopped writing poems altogether because I hated that I wasn't brave enough to write my own story. After being dormant for a year, the struggle of being an anxious student sparked the poet in me again. Ever since, I have been getting better at expressing what I truly feel while I discover my own voice.
WHAT ELSE DO YOU DO? WHAT ARE THE THINGS YOU LOVE?
Apart from writing books and poems, I enjoy listening to Taylor Swift, journaling books that I have read, watching Criminal Minds and standup comedies on YouTube. I love my mom's tea, polaroid pictures, making playlists and pinterest boards, lavender shades and I love love.
WHAT WAS IT LIKE WHEN YOU GOT FEATURED ON WATTPAD?
Unbelievable.
I hadn't seen it coming since the book that was featured was originally disqualified from a huge contest. I was planning to discontinue that book or at least put it on hiatus until I figure if the plot had holes or needed more outlining. But when it got featured three times in the next 30 days--I was overwhelmed with joy. It felt like my constant efforts of improving my skills and practicing to write better everyday for three years were finally being paid off.
